Foreclosure

Michigan foreclosure deadlines can affect possession, redemption, refinancing, sale options, and rights to surplus proceeds. Prompt review of recorded documents, sale details, and title is often important.

Sheriff’s Sale and Redemption

Surplus Proceeds and Title

Assistance identifying and recovering available surplus funds and addressing deeds, liens, purchaser interests, and title questions arising from the foreclosure process.

Preparing for a consultation

What to have ready

  • Every foreclosure notice or letter you have received
  • Your most recent mortgage statements
  • The notice of sheriff’s sale or the sheriff’s deed, if the sale has happened
  • Any payoff, reinstatement, or redemption figures
  • Your deed and any other liens on the property
  • Dates: when notices arrived and any deadlines stated in them

Foreclosure timelines are short. If a sale date or redemption deadline is approaching, call the office.

Consultations are held by Zoom or phone. You can send documents securely before the call; there is no need to travel to an office.
